Mauricio Bejarano, viceministro de Minas y Energías del Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC), acompañado del embajador José Agüero Ávila y la agregada comercial Paola Subeldía, participó del último día de la Asamblea de la Agencia Internacional de Energía Renovable (IRENA), celebrada en Abu Dabi, Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
En el marco de las reuniones de alto nivel, mesas redondas ministeriales y sesiones plenarias, el tema tratado fue “Políticas y herramientas para una transición energética acelerada”, donde los representantes de Paraguay reafirmaron su compromiso de seguir aportando y contribuyendo a través de la política energética para cumplir los objetivos de la COP28, destacando especialmente los avances que se tienen en materia de tecnologías renovables e integración energética regional.
Al respecto, el viceministro Bejarano informó que mantuvo también una reunión muy importante con Francesco La Camera, director general de IRENA, a quien cursó la invitación cordial para participar de la “Semana de la energía”, a realizarse los 28 de octubre al 1 de noviembre en Paraguay.
Con respecto al encuentro con La Camera, Bejarano agregó que el alto directivo comprometió su asistencia y que además le dio un pantallazo del sector energético eléctrico del país.
El viceministro además comentó que trataron algunos temas relevantes para el sector energético nacional.
“Hablamos con el director de IRENA de un proyecto en particular, en el cuál podrían colaborar, que es la electrificación total del Paraguay. Al respecto brindaron su compromiso de apoyo en un proyecto en particular, porque ven a Paraguay como la joya que es, debido a su producción 100% de energía renovable, Veremos si ese apoyo se concreta una vez que entreguemos la nota conceptual”, enfatizó Bejarano.
